The Perfect Grilled Cheese

Do your buttered bread slices tend to burn before the cheese is melted?  That’s because butter has a low smoke point, so the bread can char in seconds.  The next time you’re making grilled cheese, try using mayonnaise instead.  Its fat components have a higher smoke point so the cheese melts and the bread toasts in unison.  Plus, mayo gives your grilled cheese a richer flavor. 🙂
