Sausage and peppers make a yummy sandwich, but the grill’s heat causes the casings on the sausage to contract and curl, making it hard to fit the meat into buns.  To avoid sausages from curling, insert a skewer lengthwise into each sausage before grilling.  The links will stay straight during cooking, so they’ll fit perfectly into their buns.
