I’ve seen a lot of bloggers rave about a popular cupcake store here and that made me curious about the shop. I do love sweets, but I am not very fond of cupcakes. I would rather feast on cakes and other desserts than the “min cakes” in a cup. Give me one and I won’t be able to finish it.
Then one Sunday morning, I got a call from my mom. She and dad were at the Power Plant Mall and they wanted to meet us for lunch. When we arrived at the mall, we decided to have lunch at Pepper Lunch. There weren’t any plans for dessert because we got too full with all those sizzling steaks. All we wanted to do was walk for a while, then have coffee.
And then we saw this cute little cupcake shop. How can you resist not stopping when you see all those fancy Dessert Holders? It’s as if a magnet was pulling me to come closer and take a look at all those colorful cupcakes. It was then that I realized it was Cupcakes by Sonja. Oh Em Gee! It’s the cupcake shop that sweet tooth bloggers are raving about! The daughter and the son already knew what they wanted, while I on the other hand had a hard time choosing because everything looked yummy. But, to make a long story short, we decided to bring home the Red Velvet Vixen, PB&J, Cookie Monster, Bunny Hugger Carrot Cupcake, Choco Cream Cheese Swirl, Choco Cream Cheese Swirl and Peppermint Patty.
To my surprise, I was able to finish the first cupcake by Sonja that I tried. The Bunny Hugger Carrot Cupcake was very moist and not too sweet for my taste. Just like the classic carrot cupcake that I know, it was spiced with cinnamon and covered with cream cheese frosting, really yummy as can be! After that first cupcake, I would say that I am now a convert. Well, just for Sonja’s cupcakes for now.
