This is one of my kids’ favorite desserts.  It is very easy to prepare because there is no baking required.  You have to watch out though, it is very rich, so we only have it once in a while.  Unless you’re on a top diet pill, then it’s alright to indulge and have it as often as you want. 😉

1)  Melt the chocolate in a small bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water, stirring until smooth.  Remove from the heat and let cool to tepid.

2)  In a medium bowl, whip the cream with the Kahlúa just until soft peaks form.  Stir about 3 tablespoons of the of the whipped cream into the melted chocolate, then fold in the remaining whipped cream, reserving 1/4 cup for garnish.  Do not overwork or the mousse will be grainy.  Cover and refrigerate the mousse and remaining whipped cream until chilled, at least 30 minutes.

3)  Spoon the mousse into bowls and garnish each serving with a dollop of the reserved whipped cream.
