Making pizza at home is a fun activity that you can either do on your own or with the kids. Why bother making your own pizza? As well as the fact that it is a lot of fun, it is also healthy, delicious and you will almost certainly save money at the same time. There is also no end to the flavors of pizza that you can make, and it is a great way to get creative in the kitchen.

You may think that making pizza is too specialized. However, once you know how to do it, it’s easy. Here is a quick guide to making your own pizza at home, and once you’ve made one you’ll be making your own pizza all the time.

Start By Researching

The best thing to do before you even get out the ingredients is to do some research online. Find some videos of other people making pizza, and download the best ones using http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com. This will allow you to watch them from your own computer wherever and whenever you want to, including in your own kitchen. Always make sure you respect IP with video downloads.

Use these instruction videos to learn some techniques for making the dough, preparing the topping and choosing ingredients. Seeing it in action is often easier than reading from a recipe, so this is a great way to familiarize yourself with the techniques.

Gather Together the Basics

After you have familiarized yourself on the basic techniques, it’s time to gather together the ingredients. Fortunately, when it comes to making homemade pizza, you won’t need much at all. A good pizza base requires no more than flour, yeast, olive oil, salt and water. Then for the topping you will want cheese and tomato sauce, as well as whatever else you want to use.

As you can see, these are all very common items, and there is a good chance you have most of them, or all of them, in your home already, making homemade pizza even easier and cheaper.

Make the Base

Making the pizza base in the hardest part. There are hundreds of recipes online to help you choose the right proportions, so choose one and use it as your guide. If it doesn’t work out the first time, choose another recipe.

The basic process is to warm the water and then mix all of the ingredients for the base together until they form into a ball that is not too sticky. After you have mixed them together, leave the ball in a bowl in a warm place. A good technique is to cover the bowl with a towel and leave it on a warm stove.

Once you have left the dough to rise, pre-bake the base. Roll out the dough to the size that you want, place it in a pan, and bake it for five or six minutes. Once it has been pre-baked, you can either go ahead and add the topping straight away, or leave it in the fridge for a more convenient moment.

Get Creative with the Topping

The topping is completely up to you. You don’t need a special tomato sauce, and all you need to do is crack open a tin of tomatoes, add in some herbs like oregano and basil to taste, and season with salt and pepper.

Paste the sauce onto the base, then just add on whatever you want. This is where to get the family involved and make it into a fun activity for the kids, and just go with what you think will taste good. Then you simply cook the pizza for about 15 minutes or so, and take it out when it’s ready.

Enjoy Your Homemade Pizza

Pizza is a delicious and healthy meal when you make it at home. Try making pizza yourself and see how it goes. It may take a few tries to get it right, but once you know how to make a quick and tasty pizza you will be making it all the time.
