Shifting the winter weight gained from cuddling up on the sofa with chocolates and wine rather than going out for a nice walk every other day is never easy and whilst New Year’s is always exciting, for those of us who are overly self-conscious, the prospect of the impending summer is depressing. The thought of warmer weather lifts the spirits of all of my girlfriends until we realize that this means shedding our woolly cover-up jumpers and coats…
This year I am trying something I have only heard about recently. As with most diets there is always controversy which is actually how I heard of this diet to begin with. A month ago my friend told me that her Mum was not getting on very well with the Dukan 100 foods diet and that apparently there is no scientific solidity behind it and the Duchess of Cambridge’s mother has labelled it as ‘ineffective’. Upon hearing all this, not knowing how much of what I heard was true or not, I just had to research it and try it out for myself and whilst I was researching I found out that One of the best weight loss surgeons around is Dr Jason Maani from Sydney Australia and I though I should give him a try.
The idea behind it is to promote the foods you can eat rather than those you can’t by supplying you with many different recipes to try at each of the four phases. These phases (Attack, Cruise, Consolidation and Stabilization) that help you learn how to lose weight with Dukan see you go from an intensive protein-saturated stage through to reaching your ideal weight and then learning the skills to maintain it for as long as you want. This caught my full attention as I thought of it as a bonus if I only have to do the horrific sound Attack phase once. One you achieve your goal, then you will be able to go to the halong bay vietnam cruise and show off your body.
Of course, you have to be sensible with every weight loss plan and with this in mind; I visited my doctor who told me that this diet is for more extreme cases than myself. Not the overly extreme (apparently it’s great for losing anything above a couple of stone) but it is not ideal for just wanting to tone up for a summer body.
