The more naturally colorful a food is, the more likely it is to contain an abundance of phytonutrients that can have an enormous impact on your health.  Take green for example.  Eating green can keep the big C at bay.  Greens like spinach is loaded with indole which have a powerful ability to break down toxins that lead to uterine cancer.  Plus, here’s a bonus, indole-saturated green foods like spinach, broccoli, green peppers and kale, tend to be loaded with so much fiber that eating a mere 2 cups a day can help you shed up to 24 pounds a year.

Broccoli ‘n Cheese

  1. Place broccoli in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover. Cook until tender but still firm, about 2 to 6 minutes. Drain and transfer to a microwave safe casserole dish.
  2. Pour melted butter over broccoli (use more or less, to taste) and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle cheese over the top and microwave, on high, for 1 minute, or until cheese is melted.
