My mom turned 60 this year, and for the first time in her life, she complained of an achy knee. She is limping and her left knee is inflamed. Knowing her so much, I was so sure she’ll say no if I suggest we go to the doctor to have it checked. For as long as she can tolerate the pain, going to the doctor is the last thing on her list.
I’m a little worried because I know that being overweight also adds to the pressure on her already burdened knee, so I called her doctor. After checking the symptoms with my mom, he gave her glucosamine at Natures Best. She’s been taking it and now she tells me that her knee dramatically improved and she is feeling a lot better. She is not limping anymore and can stand up for a longer time.
I had to remind her though that not because she is feeling better, she can go back to her old ‘fatty’ diet. She loves dairy (milk, butter and cheese), coffee, tea and eggplant. Oh, she can drink cups and cups of coffee and tea daily! That has got to stop mom because no matter how effective your meds are, the pain will keep coming back if you don’t at least lessen your intake. Those are drinks are healthy of course, but too much of a good thing isn’t good.
