My insurance agent is recommended that I add flood coverage to our car insurance policy.  I used to disregard this idea because we live in a higher area and we have never experienced flooding.  Besides, I don’t want to pay extra for insurance that I may never need.

But after Storm Ketsana ravaged Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon two weeks ago, I knew it was necessary to have  it even if we were not affected by the major flooding.  I suddenly realized how important that “ad-on” was.  Still, I want to make sure the extra cost would fit my budget so I’m checking several insurance online and comparing quotes.

So many cars and homes were damaged by the storm and repair costs are so high.  I’m also considering getting a policy with guaranteed replacement cost average.
