It’s a good thing my dad’s oral medicine for his diabetes does not contain Pioglitazone.  The chemical related to steroids can be very dangerous and it is being linked to heart attacks, heart failure and may boost a person’s risk of bladder cancer. I immediately checked for this ingredient when I tripped on article about an Actos lawsuit filed in the US.

If you have someone in your family or you have friends diagnosed with diabetes, ask them to check their oral medicine for the chemical ingredient mentioned above.  Headache; upper respiratory infection; muscle pain; sinus infection; tooth problems; sore throat; and swelling or bloating are some of it’s side effects. Tell them to consult their docs if they have been experiencing any or all of these.
